In late September our Head of Internal Medicine and Medicine Specialist Ferran Valls Sanchez ran an engaging and informal evening on ‘How to approach nasal discharge’ for primary care vets. Those who attended found the evening stimulating and informative, it exceeded their expectations and gave them tips on spotting signs and diagnosing cases, as well as knowing when to refer.
Ferran then ran through how our new Chronic Respiratory Clinics work, speeding up the current referrals process for referring vets and aiming to reduce the hospitalisation time for the pets. The multidisciplinary nature of our hospital supports this process by allowing our Internal Medicine team to have the support from diagnostic imaging, surgery, interventional radiology and clinical/anatomical pathology specialists among others. The vets felt this was useful and would use these clinics in the future.
